Wow did we have a job today.
Moses is a sweet guy that is so poor on his feet. Three club feet. He is hugh as well, not overweight, just BIG. And very hairy. OAY with mega hair. Oh did I mention that he has been sedated in the past somewhere else as he is very touchy about his legs and feet.
I told them we wouldn't be able to bathe him if we needed to sedate.
We decided he was better off in the floor, than on a table for obvious reasons.
So we started out with 7 blades. He got tired and layed down so we got him flat on his side, had the bather control his head and talk nice to him, and we got him done with the two of us in about an hour. Wow, He was a good boy.
We even got him in the tub and dryed then finished him and his feet and legs the same way. He was enjoying it. Didn't struggle or growl, just wagged his tail.
The owner was elated that it all went so well and no sedation. So were we!
We filled at least 6 WalMart shopping bags packed full of hair.
So as far as OAY's go he was a gem. Hope to see him next year.

At our shop we see a LOT of Newfies that are coming into a rescue program. Most of these genital giants have been neglected and are in bad shape. Most get striped so we can get to the maggots(yes they go to the Vet), some times we can comb them out. Many sad story's of there past, there futures are looking good...

I'm lucky. I do a newfie that never has a tangle and he is awesome! Although, I did learn the hard way not to stand directly behind him while doing his feet. He horse kicked me in the chest! All I could do was laugh.
