  • Pet Style English Cocker

Here is Eddie. He is a young intact male from Australia (note the un-docked tail), here on vacation. This is the first Eng. Cocker I haven't had one in my salon in 8 or 9 years, and this is the only one that I have ever done that is a full handstrip! He didn't have much for furnishings and he was blowing coat so bad that spots on his neck were nearly to the skin. He also has a shaved spot from a Vet visit on his throat if you can see it, wasn't me! He was a lot of fun, and I wish I had more of these dogs because they are seemingly one of the sweetest and most calm breeds ever!

Great groom. Love that last pic of him, he looks so handsome.
      I've never groomed one.

LOL...its ironic that most Aussie groomers dread Eng Cockers as much as it seems most US groomers dread Am.Cockers.
We see fat hairy naughty Eng Cockers by the dozens .Its rare for us to see an Am.Cocker!

You are VERY lucky to have landed such a nice calm dog with a small coat !

          i love them too...

          hey..i love english cockers too..
while i was at grooming school..i never got to groom any..but after coming back home...i groom 3 every 2-3 weeks..hehe..i have 3

          all girls..

oh well..here are some pics attached...
the black one is Raisin..n she's just 5 months old..this was her first groom..
and the blue roan is Skittles, shes the mother...

PS : for the ears, sometimes, if they have like thick coat n long...i like to use like a #3 3/4 or a #4...just to skim over the ears...but at times i like them in the "breed style" ....and on the head...i hate the"fluffy"...i love it slick..they look so much cuter...

I'm glad to see you didn't have to use the slap-chop method from the you-tube video!!

              He looks really nice.

You want one? We have 4 of the lil monkeys here! Black n white ticked, blue n tan, blue roan and and orange roan. Gorgeous every one of them,Perry the only boy is mine and he's a few sandwiches short of a picnic but adorable! I don't look forward to eng cockers at work as their coats seem to take forever to dry (and in our area they are extremely popular), but the only fault I find with our own dogs is that they are sooooooooooo clingy! We don't get many am. cockers here but the few we do groom are habitual poopers, lol, nothing against the dogs its just a common trait we've noticed. Your cocker looks like a lovely character, nice groom!

I have only seen one in this state, and he comes to me. He's a dollbaby---BUT---he is a sitter and a head hanger and he really is NOT one of my favorite to groom. My Am. cockers don't do any of the head hanging, pooping, peeing and all of that. Thank goodness.

I did have two that did all of that but she traded them in for 3 yorkies, boy was I glad! I find yorkies quite easy, since I own one of the little brats!
