  • Introductions! Hi my name is........

Lisa Medeiros-Grieco I own GroomTown Pet Boutique & Spa in North Andover, MA. I have been in business for 3 years, but have been grooming for 16 years. Not including all of the other animal related jobs I had since I was 14. I graduated from Essex Agricultural HS and then Pedigree Career Institute in Lynn, MA.

My business out grew its location in North Andover. I am in the process of remodeling a new shop up the street in a larger location. This is very stressful along with very exciting! My two other employees are great and very excited about the move. We won't be playing fanny tag any more!

    What's your story :-)...........................

      Jen here

Hi Lisa, I would really love to meet you at some point.
I live with my partner in Waltham. This is a second career for me, I previously worked as a grant administrator for a non profit and later for a research group. I decided to "retire" (sounds better than get the heck out...) at age 35 and find something to do that I really enjoyed. So after a brief stint as a bather at a petsomething (just to check out the profession) I was off to grooming school. I graduated grooming school in 2007 and have been working as a groomer since mid-way through school.
I was downsized (sadly this doesn't mean I lost weight) as of last Thursday, so I am looking for a new job right now. I would really like to find somewhere I can "land" and stay for a while with someone who is very experienced and willing to give pointers and constructive criticism. Just posted my first B&A on here, take a look! I wish I had done it sooner, the critique is wonderful.

There doesn't seem to be many MA groomers on here...

Hey MASS! I am Wendy from Maynard. Good to see some locals! I was really surprised to see there werent many people from MA. Maybe thats a good thing for business!! I am also a career changer (still in process actually). I am currently still in school learning the basics and upon completion I am going to go Mobile.

                Mass Groomers

Hi Everyone, Nice to meet you all.

I am Danyel, I have been grooming for the past 10 years, I started at Bristol Aggie, And them apprenticed for 7 years took a quick break from grooming full time (just groomed from my house). I had to come back I loved it so much. I have been working full time for a friend for the past year and am now thinking about moving on and opening my own shop.

I am nervous about taking the big leap. I know I can do it, but there are several grooming shops in the area, and I never went to a "real" grooming school.

Can anyone give me some words of wisdom?

                Danyel
