Hey fellow groomers, my first post here btw! I'm curious as to how much you others are charging for a total rollover handstrip on a Norwich Terrier? I quoted 4 hours and $150.00 owners said " I only have budgeted for $50 bucks" and she said she comes from Virginia.

I'm not in Florida but what the owner said, that's crazy talk no matter where you live. Did she want a full strip? I'm not sure what you mean by "rollover". Do you mean "rolling" the coat?

I'd give her an hour or so of my time.

Hand Strip Terrier costs

Hey thanks for the reply! Complete strip and he is a year old and never worked on. I do a Brussels and she brings him on a regular basis and I charge her $50.00 for just a shaping and his head done!

We're not supposed to talk prices on the board, but I can tell you I attended a seminar by Sue Zecco about a year ago and she was chargine a dollar a minute. You figure that the first couple of times, you're gonna spend a lot of time, then just shaping up unless you take it completely down.

Think about it. If she took you up on your offer (which, dear god, I hope you'd break up into two sessions), that's quite a deal. Hypothetically, if she gets a full strip twice a year @ $150 a session, that's only $300 a year. That's only $25 a month coming out of her monthly budget!

Perhaps the owner needs educating.

$1.00 per minute, bath not included in time. My massage therapist charges that much to undo what I do to my hands. No way I'm going to end up in the hole because the customer has no idea the work involved.

dollars AN HOUR maybe but not just $50.......

The shop I worked at charged $50 per session. They would brake it up into 2 or 4 session based on the size of dog. Each session was about 4 hours.
