Dogs leg cut off with shears!!

Someone forwarded this article to me. I literally became ill after reading the title. I can’t believe that no one was held responsible for what happened to this poor dog. I just had to post this for others to read. It’s absolutely horrible. Here is the link, I hope it’s ok to post here.

I do have a link to a site where there has been a petition started to charge this man with animal cruelty. I wasn’t sure if it was against the rules to post that here on this message board?

How horrible! I could hear the poor dog's agonizing screams as I read it. That poor woman who witnessed that-I think I would've stopped the guy if it had been me. So so sad.

I feel sick. Animal rights is what my life is about, its what I live for. And I still dont understand. Do people just not have compassion? Or maybe they do have compassion but they are just so incredibly stupid? I want to believe that this man really thought he was doing a good thing for this dog. We work with dogs every day. They have personalities and feelings and I just dont understand.

what is this world coming to. This makes me think about a dog I groom about 2 weeks ago. It was a mix breed. The owner took him to petsomthing and a new groomer who just got out of school, cut the dogs ear about off. the owner told me the ear was just hanging by thread. she told me it took about 3 months to get it back together. What I couldnt understand is they also wanted her to pay for the groom. and it was not a cheap groom. The lady didnt even know that groomer was a new one.

There's a huge difference between cutting of a dog's leg on purpose, under screams of pain, and a groomer accidentally cutting a dog's ear. A HUGE difference. That story made me sick. I read some horrible things, but this one had me in tears.

That is so sick! I think the cop should be held accountable to some degree. When she explained to them what happened, the cop should have asked to see the dog. He could've saved his life. This is such a sickening tradgedy.

Thats insane. I would have ran up to the guy and kicked him off the dog. I also would have grabbed my camera and taken pictures. Then called animal control myself, not the cops. That's disgusting.

I'm with Mary on this one. The policeman should've asked to see the dog and he would've known it was in immediate need of medical attention. The neighbor did the right thing. Where we live the animal control is in with the police department so when you call an officer is automatically sent out to see if you need animal control. Turns my stomach, I definitely would've run over and tried to stop the man after I called 911 but the poor neighbor was probably afraid she'd get it with the pruning shears. That poor doggy.
