  • Your pet's favorite toy.

Do your dogs/cats have a favorite toy, not a type of toy but a specific one that is their toy soulmate? lol

When I was living in Philly I got a loft bed from ikea after being warned that the apartment was prone to flooding. My brother helped me put it together and one of us mixed up the plastic endcaps so there were a couple left over and we left them on the floor for the time being. For whatever reason Mollie LOVES these endcaps, and they have made 3 moves with us. She flings them across the room, chases them, chews on them, then flings them across the room again. I will have to see if I can order just the endcaps from ikea. lol

Dooley's latest favorite toy is a plastic cup that he knocked over (empty luckily). He sticks his head in it, bats it around, and hugs/rabbit kicks it. Unfortunately, he has also taken a liking to the blinds in my new apartment. I'd just raise them up, but of course there goes my privacy. Although it isn't really a toy, he has a specific blanket that he suckels on, when he's being a real turd (which is 99% of his waking hours) I'll put him on the blanket and sometimes it'll distract him long enough for me to regain my composure. lol

    Halle

Halle loves to bang around the metal food bowls. Clank clank. Her fav toy I found onbly one came from the dollar store. It is a vinyl cat, like morris trurned head looking at butt cuz it squeeks from there. Guess what I call her little ___rty-cat? She doesn't like the elephant with roll out trunk and tail as much. Her little squirrelies that have the tree tr.unk to hide them in .Tghere is one with a bee hive and bees too. I got extra squirrels, that wash well in machine.I have noticed over the years that the , not the porcupine the ummmm. not chipmonk, can't remember but very popular as fav tioy of many dogs.Soft squeeky toy.My mind is going. Hedge hog, that is what it is!I think she likes paper towels a lot for snacks....not good honey.

What is my lab's favorite toy? Well in the house she has this one paticular line of squeaky toys. She is constantly squeaking them, like she is talking with them. Then outside her two biggest favorites are a soccer ball (she actually tries to catch it in mid air with her paws.) and an old riding mower tire. When she is outside and she sees either one of them and they are out of her reach. She will whine until we go and get it for her.

I have two dogs Lady and Blue, Lady's fave game seems to be destroying all toys a.s.a.p! When we got Blue we got a squeecky stuffed cat that he flings around everywhere. Amazingly its stayed intact for 10 months now when he goes to sleep he carries it to his bed and lies on top of it- and Lady knows better than to try an pull it from under him!

I think that now it is gone but for a long time my older beagle Biscuit would carry around an ear of a stuffed bear that she chewed up. Sometimes she would carry around the eyeball too! I still laugh thinking about it. She didn't want to carry the whole bear around, just pieces of it, we always thought that it was kinda gruesome, lol!

Fun thread Maggy!! Ok, well my one Lhasa and the baby of the bunch LOVES ice. If she hears someone getting ice out of the icemaker, she comes flying and then beggin' and a barkin' until you give her a piece. She is SO happy with it until it does it's disappearing act - then it's all just a mystery to her..It's so funny to watch! Another of her favorites is the tops of a milk jug - I don't like her to chew on them becuase I'm afraid she'll choke if she chews a chunk off. But golly you should see her go nuts playing with it. That and hair twisties. The others are totally into their squeak toys. A new one rarely lasts longer than a day, they can destroy a squeaker in minutes! There really are no particular favorites, becuase they never seem to last very long to become favorites. All my Lhasa's are chewers!! They each however have their own beds and geez dare another dog even think of stepping a paw on the other's bed...The fun and games are all over then.

Ruby's favorties thing is a paper towel, dampen it a ball it up, let it dry...and she is lovin it carrying it everywhere, guarding it and then...she'll shred it up and we start over again. Dakota's is a planet dog ball he has this thing in his mouth all the time even barks with it in. He takes it to bed with him and first thing he grabs when he get up.

                  Ivorys' Fav Toy

Ivory is moving away, once the house is sold. Ivory (call her Ivy) is a white mini Schnauzer, I love. Ivory has an old old worn out mouse she loves more than any other toy. I gave her a Zanie she ignores but Murphy, the daughters lil black poodle plays with that. The daughter is an adult and sometimes brings Murph for me to groom at Ivorys' home. Is there any way you know of to get a dog to fall in love with a NEW toy? It won't last much longer/ I thought maybe sew the old one to a new toy. Its a soft floppy type. I want to give her a toy as a goodbye present that she will like. So far, no one has even looked at the house, so hopefully she will be around awhile longer.

My dog Libby has a fuzzy pink heart that says "I love you" when you squeeze it. So she'll follow us around the house and squeeze it when she wants attention. She works on her nylabone every day too. But the thing she goes crazy over is a cardboard paper towel tube! I just have to ask her do you want a tube? and she'll dance around and bark like a fool, run off with it and shred it immediately.

Holly loves her 'Green Thing'-a 22inch tug toy with a sqeeker at one end and a rattle at the other. Danny likes his 'Purple Thing' and Penny carries around her food bowl especially when company comes over. They have a mountain of toys piled up, but they always find their faves. The funniest toy any of mine played with over the years was Pattie Cocker's toilet bowl knobs-the plastic piece that covers the bolt. Any motel or home she visited, she would dash to the bathroom to see if she could get them off. Must be hereditary too, because her son, Rowdy, that my parents had did the same thing and he never was around when Pattie could show him how!

Oli's favorite toy is a big stuffed elephant. When I first brought him home, I took him to the pet store and let him pick out toys. That elephant was the first thing he grabbed. I've had to replace the squeeker in it many times, and sew up a few rips. It's ratty and worn, but he still loves it.

                          Whizzy's favorite toy is Oli.

Toby's fav toy, really has a couple of them. When we first got Toby we bought him a squeakie toy that looks like a chic hatching out of its egg shell, just loves that toy. When he is in the shop with me he has a stuffed squeakie dog bone. If he thinks I've groomed too long he brings it up to me, with it in his mouth he will push me against the leg, wanting me to stop and throw it for him.
Panda has a little rattle stuffed toy that looks like Winnie the Pooh.
Pixie, too worried about food to have a fav toy.
Maggie I guess her fav toy would be Toby. She never really played with anything until Toby came into the family.
