So I posted a while ago about an old Dalmation that finally went to a better place.
Well I walked into work this morning and under that Dalmations name was a Shepherds name. "Rani" (ronny). So I asked my boss if Rani died. She did. Poor girl. She was 8 yrs old and acted like she was 2. We've noticed she's been having problems for about a year now. I noticed it first and told my boss, my boss told the owner and he didn't think anything of it. Then the other girls I work with noticed things and they told my boss and he told the owner and still he didn't think anything of it. She urinated a lot. Frequently and anywhere. It was only a little when it happened and clear. The owner said she didn't do it at home so he didn't want to take her to the vet for something that she doesn't do at home. Well he finally started paying more attention to her and noticed that she was urinated everywhere. He then realized that it had no smell to it and no color, so he thought it was just water spots or something.
He took her to the vet and they did a test and they found an infection, but they couldn't determine the infection site. So the vet gave her antibiotics and sent them home. A week later nothing was happened. No improvement and he knew now that she had an infection and wanted it to get treated. So back to the vet they went. The tech went to put a catheter in and her urethra (or whatever it's called) was ripping apart like wet paper. So they ran some blood tests on her asap and did an ultrasound. They found out she had cancer in her bladder and urinary tract. So far gone that they couldn't do anything about it. (Well we have been telling the guy for over a year something was wrong with his dog). So poor Rani had to be euthanzied the other day.
He feels so horrible. He loved her. He called my boss to tell him the news. She was supposed to come in today for boarding. So he had to let us know that she wouldn't be in. He's kicking himself for not listening to us sooner. My boss said he broke down on the phone. I feel so bad. She was one of my favorites to groom. She was obnoxious to board, but she was an angel to groom.
