Oh, don't sweat it. I have to admit I have days that I do that to. I have this client whose last name is more like a first name for a dog, and I have more than once called the dog by its human last name! I just laugh it off and and call it a blonde moment.(I am blonde by the way). Or its just one of those crazy dog days! I had a lady I kept calling Sharon and her name was Shannon, I didn't know until her husband corrected me. I guess some people are too shy to speak up. But on the other hand I have people constantly get my name wrong too. So its really not a big deal. We all do it!

Awww funny
Yep darn embarrishing. I had a buddy named Becky, her dog Nora. Interchanged them a few times. I know two people named Gigi one of them a customer with a poodle.
I did call a dog yesterday Charlie a few times. His name is Disco, but looks identical to Charlie whom I groomed the day before. I don't think the owner heard, but may have.
I guess the nice owner of the Yorky didn't want to embarrish you, lol. Got foiled.Money will buy you a pretty good dog but it won't buy the wag of it's tail.

lol. I forget dog names all the time. Unless there is something aout them that makes me remember. Like this morning I did Leo he is always a good boy and today he bit me. Thank god it was just a Hey, don't touch me there bite. Owner told me he thinks he is a cat and tries to do everything the cat does, so I figure he has a sore spot. Now I won't forget his name.If your dog is fat, you are not getting enough exercise!

LOL Thats so funny. Obviously she wasn't affended, or maybe young, and too shy to say anything. I'm always conscience when calling a client I don't say "Mrs. FiFi". It takes a lot more than that to stop the world from going around and around.
have a great day

When I was living in Philly my building had a lot of pet owners, one of my neighbors had a little boston terrier named T-Bone. My other neighbor (for whatever reason) thought his name was Meatball, so she called him that all the time. It wasn't until we were standing around as a group and a new tenant walked by and asked what his name was that my neighbor realized the dog's name wasn't meatball.
When she asked why the guy never corrected her he said he thought it was her own little nickname for him. haha

Why would anyone name a dog, Beatrice, there in lies the problem! LOL Anything longer than 2 syllables is not a good dog name, IMHO. I have trouble with dog's names when they don't fit the dog. A schanuzer I groom is named Bandit hmmm no mask, no pistols, and way to polite to ever be a thief. Also have a silver poodle named Penny -- have trouble with that one, too.

Oh, those Mollys! Had one today, owner is Molly, dog is Brandy. Have to stop myself fromswitching So many dogs are named Molly (and Brandy!!).
Yes, names that just don't fit. I have a new Scottie girl coming on Fri. She's been kicked out of a very reputable salon, and got nicked 'in the eye' according to the owner at the last place she was groomed. I'm hoping a quiet one at a time shop will make a difference. Anyway, this dog's name is Adair! I will not be able to call her that -even sounds mean and threatening. I'll have to call her Addy, a much nicer sound.Old groomers never die, they just go at a slower clip.
Groom on!!!

The other day I had a cocker on my table and a lady came up to the window and started talking to me, and I knew the ladys face so I just assumed this was her dog, and proceeded to tell her about the long wart her dog had on her chest, and how she shoud have the vert remove it because it was irritated by the clippers, this lady listens for a minute and then she says thats not my dof though-----. I was like oh no mis so n so you have Amy, I know this womans fcae what was I thinking lol. She just laughed and she said well I did come over while that dog was on the table, so I understand.

Haha, I used to have a regular customer named Dumpster. She was a Brd Collie mix that they found in a dumpster as a puppy. Anyway, the first day we groomed her we had another little mix for a first groom as well, and I thought the other dog was Dumpster. I kept calling this dog Dumpster in front of his owner and she never corrected me. I didn't realize my mistake until after she left, talk about embarrassed!!! When she came back the next time, I apologized to her and she just laughed and said she thought I was calling her dog that because she was a "garbage dog". At least she had a good sense of humor..lolSheilaB from SC
