I remember all of these and miss some of them, like seeing a child READ a book, and playing with toys in your room instead of vidieo games. sitting at the table as a family...so on
you brought back alot of good memories, THANKS
I also feel sorry for anyone under 30 as the world has changed so much that most of them have no Idea what we are talking about"Whoever Said That Money Can't Buy Happiness Forgot About Puppies"

Oh, the memories you have brought back actually put tears in my eyes. It is such a good warm feeling.
When parents didn't want their young girls to be watching Elvis from the waiste down, the Beatles with their long hair and bad music, the Rolling Stones with even worse music. Walking to the park with your girlfriends with no worries. The nights spent at the roller rink with your friends. Going to school dances with your friends and not worried that you went with a bunch of girls instead of a date. Record players, 45's and albums.
My daughter and I were watching an OLD game show, Match game, and one of the questions (which I can't remember) she answered with an answer of today, I had to tell her that wouldn't have been around then. She was amazed (she is 26).
Can't wait for your next installment."There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face."

What I think is the funniest is when a song from when I was in school is remade and my kids say Hey mom you ought to here this cool new song. They never believe us until we download (oops could not have done this a few years ago) the original and make them listen to it. They always end up looking stunned lol"Whoever Said That Money Can't Buy Happiness Forgot About Puppies"

Playing hide n seek at night in the neighborhood where everyone's yard was our playground. Homemade ice cream and grandparents coming over for barbacue on saturday night. Walking or riding bikes to school. When swiping fruit off the neighbors trees was the closest thing to vandalism that kids did. Roller skates w/metal wheels (okay some things are better off in the past....lol) Making your own Halloween costume from things you found in your mothers closet. When going to McDonalds was a big treat two or three times a year instead of two or three times a week. Having a paper route after school and cleaning neighbors pools during the summer for spending money. I am 37 and I am soooo glad I am old enough to remember these things!SheilaB from SC

I'm 35 and I do remember these things. Aahhhh, brings back good memories. My husband and I talk about this stuff, how todays kids have no idea how we grew up. Things were MUCH simpler then! And we had so much fun! We used to play our Boom box with our cassettes made off the radio with a tape recorder and dance out in our yard. Me and all the neighborhood girls had a blast!! No sitting in front of computer or video game for us! Loved catching the fireflies in a jar. Thanks for bringing good memories back.

I’m 25 years old and remember most of the things mentioned. Like someone else mentioned, I miss those things. I played almost every game mentioned when I was younger. The town I grew up in is smaller, and I wasn’t exposed to a lot of the changes that have occurred in the world until I had already graduated from high school. The only thing I can’t remember was girls not dating until high school. Girls dated in middle school when I attended. Now that I’m older, I don’t know what we were all in such a hurry for.

I remember alot of that stuff too.
It is sad that kids now are so dependant on video games and tv. Shoot...we didn't even have a VCRs when I was a kid and we only got what, maybe 4 stations on the TV. I was thrilled just playing with a big cardboard box and using canned goods for building blocks LOL

We use to take our boat out into the ocean in Redondo Beach every weekend and my brothers and I rode in the back of the truck to get there. We use to ride in the back of the truck to go every where. I don't think you can even dock your boat in Redondo Beach anymore, let alone do it on the beach.
I still remember hearing the Beatles for the first time and my dad say, "They don't sing too mad, if only they didn't have that long hair". I am glad we don't have to wear nylons in a set of two anymore, and I still have my toy cap gun.
