  • was having a good day until........

    hi guys
i havent been on lately ,had pneumonia, was closed all week last week, anyways a lady called today i had done her dog twice before, shes really nice but kinda of a ding bat dogs great chow mix,she drops off dog,and says just clean her up good so i did what i always do,and this dog has massive undercoat,so im almost fifnished and called her and told her i would be done at five, she says ok,i said its taking me longer because of all the massive undercoat, then she says well i wanted her shaved i said you didnt ask for that, but i said ok i will do it really quick, she tells me my old groomer used a 5 forward and then reverse,i said well thats very short, and its cold are you sure you want her shaved she says yes,i told her i would use a 4 on her a little longer she said ok,well i had her on my table when she walked in and she said omg, shes never been that short,i told her you even asked for it shorter, and i didnt even want to shave your dog you insisted, then she says i bet you my old groomer told me this because i said i wasnt coming back to her anymore,so she must have gave me bad directions,so my dog would look like ****,it really pissed me off,i worked hard on her,and i didnt want to shave it in the first place,at least everyone else was cool

Wow that sounds like a lose-lose situation, that would have made me upset as well.

Wow. That's really bad! I wouldn't want to groom her dogs again after that runaround.

Glad to hear your over pneumonia. That's too bad that you were sick and had to close. As for the woman, maybe her old groomer did do that to her! Too bad for the dog though, and for you. More work than it should have been.

Geez that really bites! It is her own fault and you should not feel badly. She mentioned not brushing the dog out because she just wanted it shaved -- any longer than the #4 has to all be brushed out anyway, imho. She should have paid for all the brushing you did, too. Did you ask her just what she meant by shaved? Of course, I have had people say "shave my dog down an inch long". Groomers naturally expect people to know what they are saying if they have a blade number. You questioned doing it that short so she should just stew in her own mistake! You made no errors.

don't sweat it. It's hair, it will grow back. Tell them to go shopping and buy the dog a sweater.

Wow, that's too bad! At least the owner was reasonable about it... and tomorrow's another day!

Well you did say the owner was bit of a dingbat, that situation just proves it. Don't let it rattle you. You did a good job and did your best to please the owner. If the dog didn't come out how she wanted it that is NOT your fault!! BTW why would she ask a groomer how she did the dog AFTER she said she wasn't coming back unless of course she was moving away.

Thats so sad I think I would've just cried after spending that extra time. Of course I'm really sensitive when I don't feel well or at PMS time.
