    Hello All,

I just thought it was high time for me to jump in and get my feet wet here. I'm a first timer too, although with all the time I've spent reading you'd think I was a veteran here!

My short story is that I'm a vets kid who after many years and many careers finally figured out that I should have been working with animals all along. Funny thing is that I had it figured out early when working with dad in his veterinary hospital, doing large animal calls, etc., but then lost my way sometime after high school.

Anyway, I'm now the proud owner of my first mobile grooming trailer and very excited about getting it on the road. I still have a lot of work to do getting it ready (and I sure could use some help from you all!), so I' sure I'll be asking a lot of questions here, and for a lot of moral support!! Bye for now.

                Hello!

Hello Thomcat, It seems like there are quite a few of us on the forum who are making a career change to grooming, or already have. I'm not sure what led us astray, but I do think that the various business experiences that we all have most likely collected along the way can be very helpful in a grooming career! Congratulations and I hope that you have great success!

Welcome Thomcat. It takes some of us a little longer to decide we want to go to the dogs than it does for others! lol But once we finally make that move it is the best thing we could ever do.

I lived in LaPorte, Tex. for about 6 yrs. It was a nice place to live. I really enjoyed the winters there. I'm now in Utah and let me tell you the winters here are nothing like the ones there!! I did ok with the summers, always stayed in air conditioning if I could help it! LOL

Hey Thomcat and welcome!!! I saw on your profile that you are "Mr" mom, I think that is so cool. Good luck on the new business. Even though you are a new groomer you definately have experience w/animals so I am sure you will do very well. Look foreward to hearing from you in future posts!

So are you building the trailer yourself? Ask questions here as my husband and I had lots of experience putting my mobile together. The only thing we didn't install was the inverter...And, of course, WELCOME!!!
