Hi Dina, and welcome!!! This is such a great message forum for staying up-to-date on everything from business management to grooming technique. It is also a great place to be able to vent w/others who understand what you are talking about.. I am a S. Fl girl too, I grew up in Boca Raton which is about 4 or 5 hrs from Key West. I have some great memories of that place (and some memories better forgotten....lol) Look foreward to hearing more from you!SheilaB from SC

Welcome to the board Dina. This is a great place to get and give info. Hope to get a lot of info from you, you've been grooming long enough to have a LOT of helpful hints for us.
I have never been to Florida, just about everywhere on that coast but never got down that far."There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face."

Welcome! I love, love, love the keys. My Husband and I were married there..I included a picture.
Where is your shop? The whole time we were in Key West I kept telling my Husband we should move down there and open a shop. Im Mobile here in Orlando, but I couldn't imagine getting a truck or van around on that tiny island!Making Central Florida Pawsitively Purrfect since 2005.

Thank You All
Thank you for the warm welcomes, to answer a few of your questions, I am in Marathon (the middle keys) and yes those were a couple of my poodles I had just set their Continental patterns, that's why their ears are short they were only a year old each. They went on to become Ch.s I own a silver now I am going to try to put a pic of him on my memberlist pic. I might know your fiance's father what is his name? these are small keys. Yes we have been somewhat nomadic in the past, it's fun though. I love the wedding pics too thats neat I have groomed in Orlando at a couple of places Metrowest Vet Clinic and A Affectionate on Orange Blossom, I love it up there.

WelcomeYour poodles are beautiful. What a place to live and work, I too love the keys.. I must admit I am a bit jealous. Things are pretty drab although pretty warm this winter in MA. You know what they say about MA right? "If you don't like the weather wait a minute it will change."

Hi Dina, I looked on your profile to see your other ST. He is absolutely GORGEOUS!!! White Standards don't usually "float my boat", but yours are lovely! Right now I only own easy maintence pups. If I had a Standard I would probably keep him in a Greyhound cut...lol...you know the cobblers kids and all that...haha
Do you know a Kim Flemming? She may go by her maiden of Kim Russell? We were roommates eons ago and had no contact for years. She called me this past summer and said she lived on Marathon w/her hubby. Just curious. If you do know her I am curious as to your opinion of her. She was quite the wild one and it didn't sound like she had changed when I spoke to her last!!! Anyway, look forward to hearing from you on the board!SheilaB from SC

Hi Dina,
Love those poodle pics. Welcome to the board.
I visited the Keys about 5 years ago. I remember sitting on the lawn outside our motel room (northern Keys -- I don't remember which Key we were on) watching the tide come in and fill up the lawn from under the sand (it wasn't the waves coming in). It was the strangest experience to me.
It sure is a beautiful part of our country ... face east you see the sun rise on the ocean and face west you see the sun set on the Gulf.
Looking forward to reading your posts!
