While I am away getting my certification for the next 3 months, my husband will be working on a business plan to get a loan. Can anyone tell me if there is a book, or website to get the information I will need to do a business plan for a mobile dog grooming business.

I'm working on mine now with groomer in a box and it is fantastic. I met with my accountant and even he was impressed with what the package offered! The SBA is a great resource as well. They offer free templates and counsellors who will help with marketing research for you. Best of luck!Comment

I wish I had found this sooner. I'm on the verge of a life changing decisions...to stay where I am as a one person in home groomer with about 100 clientsand hire my first staff person so I can grow....or take the leap and buy a 10yr existing business with 600 clients 2 1/2 hrs from my home and relocate. I'm concerned that I won't have time to write a plan and get a loan before the new place gets snatched up....but I'm having trouble finding housing in that area that will accept my discreet of 6 Chihuahuas. I have an appointment Monday to see about a personal loan as I have no clue how to write a biz plan. Can anyone confirm that the box CD is really worth the 100$ ?Comment

I can confirm that it is worth the money. I told my accountant about it when I was talking to her about starting my business and she said to get it sooner rather than later. I used it when I applied for a start up loan at my local bank. The bank was very impressed, said it was the best business plan they had seen, and asked how much it cost to have it done.Comment

Around here business plans cost $3000 to $5000 when done by a pro. I paid $2000 about 15 years ago to get a bank loan.Comment
