  • Hello From TN!

    Hello all,

I'm not a groomer yet ,but plan on going to school this time next year. I've taken a second full time job to save for it. I have always wanted to do something with animals. I really started thinking about it when I started taking my persian cats to their groomer and she seem to enjoy her job and my babies would look so good. When I would do the grooming in between visits I thought..hmmm, I ENJOY THIS! So with 2yrs of praying and thinking about it I have put my plan into action...:-) This board and the web-site helped in convicing my hubby too! There are some great information here and I'm glad I found it.

    Hi Sfouch,
Welcome! The fact that you're here learning as much as you can before you even start school says a lot about your determination to do well in this career. Good for you! Hope you have fun reading, learning, and chatting!

it is always a little scary starting something new, but once you get going that scary feeling starts going away. I look forward every week when I go in for my training at the groomers. Maybe you can find a good groomer to give you an apprenticeship, thats what I did, it saves you some money.

              School, Apprenticeship and Welcomes.

Barepaws, I have chose Nash for the school. I have been in contact with them and they are really helpful. I'm excited about going! I know it will be a while, but the saying is... "all good things come to those who wait."..:-)

Kayce, A apprenticeship I hope to do; if I can find a groomer in my area to help out. I would only be able to do it one day a week on my day off. I plan on asking the groomer I use...

Pink, I'm about an hour south of Nashville. I don't go there much cause the TRAFFIC! scares me to death...lol.

Thank all of you for such a warm welcome.. I look forward into getting to know you and learning about the grooming world.

I too, am from TN -- Tullahoma. Where in TN are you located? You said 1 hour south of Nashville -- that would be close to me.
