  • Hello all. I'm new today!

Hi. My name is Anda. I am so excited to say I'm getting out of the teaching profession after 12 years and can't wait for this new start in grooming! I teach elementary P.E. and will probably finish out the school year. My husband and I hope to move from Md. to NC. in June or maybe earlier if the house sells. My interest is in Mobile grooming so I hope to start that once we move. I can't wait to go South. Way too cold in Md. for me. I am learning alot between my home study pckg. and this message board. My oldest sister is a groomer in Nags Head NC so I'll be working under them for lots of hands on. I love my "baby boy Geddy". He is my Boykin Spaniel who is my pride and joy of course. We don't have human kids. When the kids at school ask about me having kids, I tell them mine is brown and curly with green eyes and 4 legs. We also have a cat named Neil. They are named after the rock band members RUSH. It's my husbands' favorite band. I have been reading this board for months and just never had the nerve to sign up. I love it. I think one can learn SOOO much from "real life" situations and experiences. I have learned alot from yall already and you don't even know it! Everyone seems so nice too. Well, I need to stop rambling on.

Hi Anda, welcome to the board. Congrats on your move to grooming. It's a very rewarding career. I've learned a lot form these boards myself and still have lots of questions. See you around.

Welcome, Geddy! There is so much to learn from these guys. I live in Fort Worth, Texas. I am somewhat "newbie" as well. I was stumbled across this website and then the boards, Girl, its very addictive! Be careful! LOL!! I too am doing a career transition this year. I am excited, nervous and overwhelmed all at the same time. I leaving the legal field to mobile grooming, have been apprenticing at a vet clinic and shop as well as volunteering at the local animal shelter.

I jump on here every chance I get and ALWAYS leave with new information.
Look forward to talking with you again.

Hi Geddy, welcome to the wild world of Pet Grooming!!!!lol...You should move to SC, your Geddy would fit right in since it is the state dog. Hope you have an easy transition from teachingl children to pet grooming. It should go okay since you were already working with little animals..lol...Feel free to ask any questions, this is a friendly message board and everyone is very helpful. Good luck in your move!

Welcome, you will notice a lot of similarities: A dog bites you and the "Parent" will swear that there is no way it was their dog. You have to be stern at times, sometimes affectionate and sometimes you still have to groom the dog even though you dislike him or his parents :-)
