  • What a day!

I knew I should have stayed in bed...
I had a malttese who's owners descided that they were all of a sudden Paul Mitchell and scalped his poor head. I had to use a 5f to get it even.. then the lil bugger nipped at me, Ha ha groomers helper didn't get me
Then my next apt (a regular) who I had 1. given a remind card to, 2. called and reminded about the apt.. no showed. I got there and no key, door locked. Grr.
So rude!!!! His Golden is nice but is forever a mess... b/c he "Can't brush her b/c she tries to bite the brush." Even though I have given him pointers many, many times.. Oh well guess he is going to be let go.
I had a husky who shed so much I wanted to claw my eyes out after b/c they where so itchy..
Then the last apt of the day.. toy poodle. First off the lady who called me lied and said that it was her Uncle's dog who was 80 to get a discount. I get there and he says , he is not my dog he is her dog.None the less, she was no there. Nice.. this poor cute lil nervous nelly had such a mated head he had dreads and looked like he had just come back from a Phish tour. I wanted to put some pachuli oil on him and flowers in his dreads and send him back. The good thing was that he was a little love, so cute he felt so good after he was done. The other dogs I did where good.. just these dogs tired me out!!
Well tomorrow is a new day right??

I would let them go. You did everything you could to help them keep the appointment. Sorry your day was so hard, I hope tomorrow is better.

Dang. That sounds like the day I'm about to have...

I got 2 LMC's last night sighting they "could not afford it" (and they just figured this out?). They too will be let go. At least it opens up some spots for clients that will be charged my new 2007 rates, without me having to explain "why" I raised prices on existing clients.

the 4 others for today: 2 regulars + 2 new clients. I have a feeling I will just keep the existing ones.

Hey, irish! My Toy Poodle has "dreads" (see my avatar) and would LOVE some patchuli oil and flowers! He's in the other room practicing on his steel drums as I type... LOL

Pampered pups- could you post a bigger picture of your poodle in dreads. I'd love to get a really good look at it. So cute!
don't find yourself up a creek without a poodle.

Pamperedpups, that avatar is a poodle? I thought it was a shih tzu mix, lol. It kind of reminds me of ET with the clothes on that make it appear to have a long neck. Love it.

Fire the NS if you've tried and tried to work with them---Life is just too short IMO! Why offer a Senior Discount or any kind of discount for that matter? The only discount I offer is if someone is groomed more frequently than 4-6 weeks depending on the breed. My overhead doesn't go down because I give a discount; I still have the same expenses. I've also found a discount just encourages the less desierable, infrequent clients to use your service therefore tying up your time and preventing you from accepting the more desierable clients.

"Dreads" are properly called "cords" and this is how the Poodle was kept when used as a field dog. I have a photo here somewhere of a Std. in cords...beautiful!!!!!!!!

That is beautiful. Cords are very pretty. However this poor lil cute toy had them from atleast 8 months of not being groomed I had to take them off with a 4.. and his body and legs had to be shaved, poor lil guy. I wanted to take him home. I just love poodles. I want one soo bad.
