    Hi there all,
I was just wondering if anyone else has the ivac and if you can use a blade other than a ceramic blade AND does it have to be a laube? i love it but i would really like to use my Whal snap on's with it. and they suck with the ceramic and i can't get my buttercut 30 to snap onto the ivac. so any help would be appreciated. but for all other purposes i love it...just have those couple questions. thanks.

Rose, the iVac is just a clipper...you can use a variety of blades with it...and all snap-on combs that fit on blades.

I use ceramic blades and regular, I use a variety of brands....each clipper is different, but sometimes you just have to tweak the blades for each clipper.

If you have never had a Laube before go to our website www.thebladeguyz.com and view the video on putting a blade on a laube. The hinge on laube's are a two stage hinge so they just don't pop on and off like other clippers. The socket on the blade may need adjusting to fit them too. Any A-5 style snap on blade will work on the Ivac, but you may need to adjust the sockets to fit it just like any other clipper. Usually if the blade will go on an Oster hinge it will fit the laube hinge ok.

no you are not a moron. Laube hinges cause every new user problems which is why we made the video. Easier to show than to type it out LOL!

I wish Laube would send a regular blade on the Ivac or give you a choice. You can use steel blades on them with no problem. The ceramic is supposed to run cooler naturally so that is why they put it on the Ivac.

The key to getting the blade on the any Laube is to use the low speed on the clipper and push up on the blade release latch as you push on the blade then it will fully go on. Some blades will just pop right on, but most have to have the release pushed up/

That is the reason so manny years ago I sent my Laube's back, got sick n tired of making adjustments! I want a clipper I can use any blade with and laube might be a great clipper, but ONLY when it is working. To manny folks have to keep sending them back for repair or replacement, and I don't have the time or patience for it,wonder why they have a 5 yr.warranty? lol.....just a thought.
