  • Ya know what really grates my cheese?

When I pull into a gas station to fill the grooming van with 18 pumps, only one of which has diesel and every pump will be empty except for the one with the diesel with people getting gas! Come on people, I can understand if it's the only pump left, but when there are 16 other choices (since you can access the diesel from both sides) can you please just pick another pump? There, I feel better now. Been keeping that one in for a while.

My husband gets VERY annoyed at that also. I guess there's not much common sense or simple courtesies left, huh?

Well, the problem is that you never know (or don't see) which island the diesel pump is in until you pull up to the pumps. I wouldn't say it was because lack of common sense or lack of courtesy. I know that I pull up to the pump that's most convenient for me and I might see the diesel pump there and I might not. The stations really need to make a separate island just for diesel in my opinion.

          Sorry

Not ever having had a diesel vehicle, I never look at which pump has diesel or not, although sometimes I notice when I go to pump and see that one choice is diesel.

I will try to be more aware - really didn't realize that diesel pumps are so scarce.

I never look either and having not owned a diesel vehicle, I wouldn't ever really have thought about it. I don't think I've been inconsiderate, just unaware.

LOL, well at this particular station, the diesel pump is bright orange and although in the same island as the gas pump, it's separate. Not like some that just have a pump marked diesel with a yellow handle.
There are a few stations that have separate diesel stations but none that are close to me to fill up at often. This one is the closest that isn't outrageously priced. The closest is a mobile that charges less for paying cash, but the diesel is at the credit card only pump. At least that usually means that pump is free LOL, but usually a good 10 cents more a gallon.

We diesel owners have to stick together, mylady!

Diesel may be harder to find, but at least we have to fill up less often. The local convenience store chain has been putting in diesel pumps when they are replacing their underground tanks, it means a lot more places to fill up. Thankfully they are the least expensive place to get a tank of diesel, too.

ABSOLUTELY and what I love best about mine is I have two tanks so it means even fewer trips to the gas station. It may be 21 years old but still gets between 18-20 mpg! And the new one is a diesel too so I'm ecstatic about that, now that I know who sells diesel adn who doesn't around here!
