  • Been stripping for extra cash

My newest client...... Found me online , and drove 2 hours for a hand strip! I hope he thought it was worth it. Could use a little fine tuning, but this was his first groom and he is 9 months old.... And you thought it was something naughty! Shame

      Now you know,

this is ONE forum where you can head the title like that and we all know, what you really mean. Can't fool us. Usually when someone says "I have a new baby" or some such title, I expect to see a puppy, or a pic of a dog, not a human baby.

Very nice job, I'm sure they were pleased. How was the pup to work on, I assume it was his first time?

I'm hearing this as a song in my head, set to the tune of "Dancing Queen"
I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free.

Well lucky for me I live close to a mall and lots of other stuff, so he went Christmas shopping..... All in all he was pretty good to work on, although he was a little bouncy for about the first 20 min or so till we got into the rythem of things.... I try to limit the amount of hand stripping I do due to " groomers hands" I get achey and sore after a long day scissoring and stripping is worse.... Top that off with the fact that I scissor and strip with my hand in a funny angle.... Ouchie! I have tried to break myself but no luck!
Thanks for all of the nice comments... I welcome them good or bad!

I know this is OT, but I thought I'd share. One of my regular clients were being odd last month (they have a once a month apointment), not returning calls, etc. Usually, I only deal with the husband, as the appointment is at 7:30am on a saturday. This month, the wife answers the door, and said that their schedules are off because they have "a new little one" at home. (they have 3 dogs) I casually ask "oh, what kind" The lady looks at me funny and goes "no, a human baby this time!" Oops!

I've done a lot of hand stripping and the only problem I ever had was working up blisters on certain fingers due to pressure on the knife handle. I licked that issue by wearing a cotton garden glove with the and index finger cut short. I would wrap the pressue points on my other fingers with bandaids, don the glove and get to work.

I can strip Airedales from top to bottom and nothing hurts as a result. If your technique is correct you shouldn't have your hands, arm or shoulder giving you problems.

Very nice work! He looks adorable. I quite enjoy stripping for my clients as well. LOL. I wish I had more handstrip dogs, I only have about 5 right now.
