  • Do you use your Cell only?

I was looking at my cell phone bills. OMG, it's so expensive, I spent over $1,000 for my plan last year. I thought about getting a separate line at home as well, but after adding up my expenses I figured I can't even afford it.

The next person who tries to negotiate a price, I just might scream at them!

    ok I feel better.

I only have a cell phone, I got rid of my land line about 5 years ago when I switched from dialup to cable internet....I don't miss having a land line at all...Cell phone works great for personal and business use...

        I have only a cell.......

for my personal phone. When I move from shop to mobile, I'll be getting a second cell for business. I'll keep my current business number as a "phantom" line, and forward it to the cell. I use Cricket, and the prices just can't be beat! If you have their service in your area, I would definitely check it out.

I am using a biz line out of the home, home line and a cell, plus my daughters and husbands cell. I am tempted to drop home line but hate the fact that maybe someone will not be able to find me!

At home, I have not had a land line in about 5 years. There's just no need for 2, and the telemarketing calls are non-existent now. Me & hubby's plan runs us $88/mo.

At the shop we have a land line. That costs us about $85/mo but also includes DSL. I've looked at Vonage for the business, but business lines cost more through them too, grrr!

I have a land line, but it's part of my cable deal so it's cheap. Wow, 1000 a year is a lot! You might wanna shop around.
Thankfully I have family plan so I pay about 30/month.

                      Just Cell.

I only use a cell phone for business. After the first two years of the the first contract on it I reduced the plan be half the minutes. My message states that I probably have a dog on my table or I am driving down the road so I will be happy to talk to you about your dog's grooming needs in the evening or by the weekend. Free minutes after 7PM and on the weekends.
I prefer to return calls because I can then make sure that I have my Salesperson's Hat on if you know what I mean. I then have plenty of info from them from the questions that I ask them to answer from my message.
Also, you will do what works for you. I don't necessarily do everything the right way, just my way.

I have a cell on my parent's plan and I was planning on getting a seperate cell and plan for the business. I couldn't have both phones on the same plan, could I?

I bet that you could if it's a family plan. Some only let you add a certain amount of phones...I know mine lets you add four for a total of five!

I guess I should have mentioned we have two numbers on one cell plan. But i think I need to start looking at my expenses a little more carefully and see what I can eliminate.

$1000 a year is not a lot. I pay about 100 a month for my cell line. Unlimited incoming calls and free minutes after 5pm. I have never gone over the limit. At 100 a month that's $1200 a year.
