I am sooo tired

I did 8 dogs today start to finish. 2 cockers, 3 pom shave downs, 1 shih, 1 terrier mix that has turned into a naughty little bugger and a big fat old dalmation. Everything I own hurts. I am not used to doing so much in a day. I usually try not to do more than 4 a day. To make it worse, I stink. the poms owner smokes a carton a day and must use her dogs to wipe the ash tray. UGH. I could not get the smell out of them. each got 3 grimenator washes followed by a big old vinigar rinse. Nope they still smell like nasty.

I still smoke (yeah, I know, need to quit), but not in my house. I hate it when everything smells like an ashtray! Plus, I choose not to expose my animals to it- I have a choice, they don't. I've done afew dogs like that, too- I doubt the owners notice the dogs still have a cigarette odor on them!

I'm still in my shop, but I've been averaging 10 dogs a day for the past two months, some days I squeeze in a couple more for my desperate clients- my 'comfort level' is 8. I SO know what you mean by tired!lol Can't wait until I go mobile, so I can drop down to 5 or 6 a day, and make things easier on my body. :-(

last friday i did 14 dogs believe it or not, some multiples in the same house, but still that was a lot i worked 11hrs that day and i was very very tired that night,only 6 haircuts rest bath dogs but boy i dont want to do that again for a long time;oh and 4 of them mn poodles.

yep I've been grooming about 10-12 a day all week..my wrist and right elbow killn me...be so glad when tomorrow is over...wish someone would surprise me with a brand new grooming van/trailer lol I would be happy with used Think I will just raise my prices again ..groom less and make more...we don't have to be mobile to do that ya know! *idea*

Im tired too, lol. I work 8 days a week now, lol. Sunday Mondy Tues and Thursday late afternoon/night at my shop. Wed. Thurs. Friday and Sat. and the other shop. Things are good, I'm ready for bed though! Looks like I will have off this Sunday though, I'm trying not to book because of day light savings time, don't want to get messed up and have clients messed up ,lol. Night Night ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Yesterday, among other grooms, I shaved a Newfie, 2 german shephards, and a lab all in a row. I seriously thought mty arm was going to fall off and I have a blister on my hand from clippering.

The smell of smoke makes me wretch. It's not just the smoke floating away from the cigarette, but it's some kind of strong smell that I don't smell on ALL smokers, but on some. It's very potent.

UGH, me too!!! I think it is almost a greasy smell, kind of like when you go into a greasy spoon diner and you smell the old cooking grease. In Utah, maybe you don't have "Greasy Spoons", but here in SC, it is law that there is one every 3 miles....lol....the one up the street from me is called MeeMaws...

Have you all ever noticed that lots of the dogs w/the strong ashtray smell often have bad skin and oily coats? HMMM makes me wonder.

I do notice that! They usually have a film on them, and their skin is very greasy!

mmm, i think it's the decay of the smoke odor molecules that produce a new offensive odor. and when you get it we it's oh so much worse.

i must me getting sick, i did two (2) dogs yesterday, took me 6 hours. a min schnauzer and a full coat maltese (they were both matted) then this morning i was having a nightmare about shaving a wet gsd and answering the phone. walking around clippers in one hand, leash and phone in the other. swipe (across the grain no less) hello may i help you, swipe, no i'm sorry we don't have anything today, swipe, customers and fellow groomers staring angrily at me. i'm begging for someone else to please get the phone or help these people cause i told the owner her wet gsd with 4 swipes of the clipper (all in different directions) would be done and dry in 10 minutes. in reality i had THAT customers chow to shave with a 10 today.

so i called in sick. even though i only feel a little tired. mmm... mental health day.

Ugh! sounds like its a bad week many this week. I took time to go to the Atlanta pet fair and next week my van is going in to be repaired, so this week has been brutal and will be until Sunday. Tonight my last appointment is at 7:30. I'm only home right now because the collie I do every 2 weeks is on its way to the vet. (Good thing I came home to get water, or I would have driven out there for nothing.).
