cleaning the gray tank

How do you guys clean your tanks?

Are you supposed to do a regular cleaning?? I put some bleach down the drain every once in a while after I have drained the tank. I was told to do that fairly often in the summer so the van won't stink.

My gray tank captures the bleach/water that I sanitize the tub with. I pulled my tank out last summer (after 1-1/2 yrs) and there was very little residue in the bottom. I just layed the tank on its side and hosed it down.

I use vinegar. Although the mobile place I used to work for used bleach.
I put one gallon into a empty tank once a week. Let it sit, then flush w/a garden hose. I would think bleach would work better, but I'm afraid of dumping it.

I just add bleach and alittle water to my tank at night, by my morning stop it is supposed to be clean. It doesnt smell, so I guess I am okay.

I got this environmentally health gray tank cleaner from a local RV place I just pour it in and drive around the block and its good to go, removes everything and leaves a nice smell.

I just lay it on it's side and hose it out. I clean my tub and BB with vinegar...I never knew what was safe to use in it besides vinegar and dawn dishsoap.

Can you dump bleach? Where?

I dump in my lawn and it's saving on our water bill and the grass has never been greenier.
