  • Self service mobile grooming

I saw an ad it is coming soon to where I live. I gotta talk to that groomer. Makes no sense. They come to you, and sit there I guess, while they use your van. Plenty of mistakes in that idea.

Wonder how they are going to schedule the timing of the appointments. What if a client is very slow in bathing/grooming her dog, and running over the allotted time....do you hurry her up or charge her extra ? .so the next client sits and waits for the van to drive up and hour late....do you charge less for her time ? Better have super insurance.

Plus, it's an art to bathe a dog with limited water. When I watch self serve places the amount of water the people use is staggering. That's why I've never opened one. I don't see this working at all.

Having had a self-service dog wash for 14 yrs (the 1st one in the state), I can't see this working at all. Most owners don't have a clue and many leave a mess you can't even imagine. Good luck is all I can say.
Old groomers never die, they just go at a slower clip.

        Groom on!!!

Great point. I would leave self service to shops.

I don't have a good feeling for them.
