This is a post from another website so if you are in the area and might be interested this could be a great opportunity.

I am a Program Manager for Orange County Animal Services in Orlando, Florida. We currenly have a part time groomer who bathes and mini-grooms our adoption dogs before they are spayed/neutered in our clinic. Unfortunately, we are not going to be able to continue to use her. I am thinking of working with our Purchasing Division in developing a Contract that would be awarded to a groomer (Or groomers) to provide these services on a yearly basis, at a per animal price. We currently average around 35-40 dog adoptions per week, or about 2,000 a year. Is anyone aware of any other agencies that have this type of contract? This would be consistent steady work throughout the year. Is this something that would be of interest to mobile groomers? Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated!

I am in Orange County Fl. I would encourage them to contact numerous groomers to do this is a tax write-off and in exchange their card goes home with all of those dogs. We do this with a coupe of rescue societies.

I have tried to contact the Animal Rescue legue to volenteer to groom shelter dogs "FREE" they blew me off. I have left 8 msgs at the Humane Society for the same thing and never once have they called me back.

I had one rescue put so many restricitons on who/what/how I could groom their rescues that I just simply gave up. I volunteer with a Poodle rescue now and LOVE it!
