  • Kenchii Shears

Ok so I got the opportunity to put some Kenchii shears on layaway for 6 months with 20% down. The problem is I don't know which ones to get. I really like the shorter ones as I do a lot of small dogs. I am going to be getting a pair of curves and a pair of thinners. So which are your faves? What would you recommend? Any advice is appreciated.

For an everyday shear, I really enjoy my 5 stars! For finishing, my new Bumblebees I'm in LUUUUUUUUUUUUURVE with. Flippers are also very popular, although I'm not sure what the difference is between the 5 stars and Flippers. (You are supposed to be able to "flip" them around, but I can do that with my 5 stars as well?) After feeling/handling a good amount of Kenchii's I am convinced you can't really go wrong with any of them.

I have a set of Flippers and like the straights and curves okay, but can't say I am overwhelmed by the thinners.

That said, I have multiple sets of shears of different makes and pack my Flippers as "back-up" shears, not my primary choice for scissoring.

Oh you have these? I keep come back to those so I'm glad to hear someone really likes them. I can't wait to try them.

Kenchi 5 stars, i think, are the most reasonably priced and best performers for everyday grooming. I love mine. I have some higher end kenchiis for my show poodles, but I never use them for anything else.

I really, really love it. I will be getting the rest as soon as I can afford them. It helps that they look pretty badass too. Haha!

Has anyone tried the swivel? How do you scissor with those? Are they much different than normal shears? Does your hand feel any better with them?
