  • Envirogroom-any thoughts?

I just got a box of samples from envirogroom. I had heard about them from another groomer and went to look at their site. You have to get an access code so when I applied for it they asked if they could send samples, so of course I said yes! LOL. They are all nice size bottles, though not completely full , still quite a bit of shampoo. They sent me 11 bottles of samples, 8 oz bottle size all about 2/3 full. They list their ingredients and all of the bottles say they are the "best formulated shampoo for bathing systems". I have to say the Mint Julep smells yummy. Like spearmint. All seem to be very dilutable. All but one are 32:1, the other one is 50:1.
Would love to hear what others think. Thanks!

Well, I've tried a few of the shampoos on my own dogs and have not been thrilled. I don't like it when a dog feels "squeaky" or the coat feels overly harsh, like it's been completely stripped of ALL the coat oils. That was the feeling this shampoo has given my dogs so far. It does dilute well, a little went a very long way, nice scent and the dogs were clean, but I felt like it just took too much out of the coat. Kind of felt like straw after I had washed them and I had to really condition them to get a nice feel to the coat again.

I also tried it and loved the smell but hated the way it felt. To me it felt like there was still shampoo left in the coat. I over diluted it and it still felt slimy. Very hard to rinse out and it seemed to take longer to dry.

I've only used the oatmeal so far, but I like it. Keep in mind that I have a water softener though...that usually makes a difference.

JUST got some samples this weekend. I bought the mint conditioner for myself, I like it a lot. I really hate heavy condits except for certain (and only a few) situations. So its nice and light and smells really good. I'll let you know how I like the samples we got when I try them this week!

Ok, I have to pop back in here and rave about the oatmeal. It works really well! Smells great, dilutes easy, cleans well. The company reps were saying something about how the oatmeal is encapsulated so it's all throughout and won't settle to the bottom? (not sure if I explained that exactly right...) Anywho, it's worked better than any other oatmeal shampoo I've tried. And the people that work there are super nice. They make me want to buy from them. Hehe.

Does your water have water softner treatment in it? That will leave a dog feeling slimy and make them take longer to dry. (that is how I ALWAYS know when the hubby adds salt to the tank)
If a dogs coat squeeks when you rub down the coat once they are rinsed that is how you know your dog is clean, no squeeking gets another bath.(When I was teaching students had to have their dogs checked before leaving the tub, if they didn't squeek they got bathed again, same when I hired bathers for my salon) Bathing is suppose to not only strip off the dirt but also the old oils that are sitting in the coat.. They are replenished within 3 days
I picked up three bottles of the shampoo in Pasadena and I really liked how it worked. The only one I found that took the dogs a little longer to dry was the Oatmeal (which would make sense, since I am trying to add moisture back to the skin) The whitner I thought left the whites pretty bright and clean smelling. I really liked the Hpyo shampoo as well ,again it left the dogs clean and I like the grapefruit smell. I think my dogs dried in a reasonable amount of time. I like the fact that this product is wheat/gluton free. We have so many dogs today that have allergies and if this can help by not adding products with those in them than I am all for it.

                    I like squeaky clean

I had a rep make a "cold call" & drop off samples. First thing I did was bathe my parti cocker in the whitener (Color Fixation). Very nice! His white coat just popped out & even his black coat was shiny. Very low-sudsing, rinses well. On all their shampoos the dirt rolls off before rinsing. Mint julip, degreasing, oatmeal-- like'em all. In my salon we also have a self-bath and the customers get to use Earthbath, Pet Head & Tropiclean. I dilute & use those as well if I need to. I like the Tropiclean Papya (sp?) Plus. Sometimes I hand a customer a bottle of the Envirogroom (diluted) but the lack of suds tends to frustrate them! And I always check for "squeaky clean"-- in fact I insist on it.

I meant to come back to this thread a while ago. I have since tried some of the other samples and have to say I am very impressed with their skin treatment shampoo, their form of medicated. I actually just bought a gallon of it because it worked so well on my itchy pug. I also got some of their foaming face wash to try out, but haven't used it yet. It would be instead of the blueberry facial, it's cranberry. It smells better to me at least.

i love their degreaser. i dont use whitening on my maltese but their degreaser is awesome! (he likes to play on in the parking lot so he does turn black by the end of the week) without much effort he turns white again like magic!

their flea products smells orangy and is very nice.. works better than kelco flea in my opinion.

I really like what I have had so far. Only the Hypo-Tearless Grapefruit and the Oatmeal,,very happy with them both. Looking forward to using the Grapefruit as part of my summer long facial packages, it is very fresh & clean smelling.

It is the only shampoo we use at our two locations. We get nice results squeaky clean dogs and a really good ratio from them. I personally use the degreaser on almost everything at least for the first bath. The Aloe antiseptic is awesome on dogs with bad skin issues. I have seen dogs with yucky crusty stuff have all of it gone after the bath. Of course on these dogs I use it as the second bath and straight if they have really really bad skin. It also makes black shine like nothing else. They also have a fabulous demat spray that works wonders and conditions nicely with just a light misting. And the foaming cranberry facial is also really nice. Leaves the dogs face smelling wonderful for days. And I luv the hypo/tearless(grapefruit) and the oatmeal as well. Over all I have had really good results with their product. And for me they are a local one, which is nice to support someone from our area.

I just ordered the samples for my shop. I really wanted the cranberry facial, but its not included. Jason from Enviogroom said that if I placed an order that my distributor will give me a free bottle of it if I asked for I can sample that as well. My shop will be open in a week and we're starting out with Green Groom. I've used the smaller bottles before and I love it, but I love to keep my options open for other brands. Ya!
