  • Grooming Software?

In the shop where I work. We pull the cards and then hang it on the cage that, that dog is in which identifies who that dog is. If using software for appointments do you still have to pull the card for identification purposes?

I print off consent forms and this then goes on the cage. The grooming instructions for the day are written in when the dog arrives, the price is estimated and then the client signs agreeing to it all. If I dont know the dog I will usually write on it my own ID notes.

It depends on how you want to do things. If your going computerized why still have the hassle of pulling and filing cards? I have 123 pet and you can print up info on any pet and hang that on the cage or come up with a new id system.

Our grooming software, KennelSuite, prints out a run card when we check in a dog. That goes in a pocket on the crate. Once we computerized, those old file cards when flying out the window.

Yeah, I was thinking. If you still have to pull cards what's the point?

We use cards to record the haircuts and as a back-up should the computer fail, which has happened. For identification we write the dog/cat name on a plain index card and put that on the cage. A master board in the shop where the groomers can see it records each pet's name, check-out time, haircut details and anyother important information.
