  • Waterless Shampoo

I thought it would be nice to have a good waterless shampoo for brushouts only for unbathable cats. Has anyone used Biogroom's waterless? Any comments?

It's a great idea to have waterless shampoo on hand. I recommend Miracle Coat's Waterless Spray Shampoo (and they have a Foaming formula, too).

I use Davis Waterless Shampoo. As far as waterless goes it is really good. It mostly gets used to do a quick clean up on the poop and stomp shuffle crowd....lol...I have also used it w/really good results on greasy ears. You know the ears that are super slicked up from meds and you think you have gotten them good in the bath, then after you blow dry they are still slimy. The Davis works really well on those too!!

I have not tried Bio Groom, but I have tried Best Shot and love it! It has a nice smell.

Glad you have good results. I think maybe I will get some to keep on the trailer.

i use PPP's waterless. it has a nice coconut smell to it. just a word on waterless. it is no where nearly as good as a wet shampoo, but for those cats who you can not bath, it is a good alternative.

I use Biogroom's waterless & have been quite pleased with it. It's great for extra naughty cats and I also use on the REALLY old dog's heads who I don't want to hose down.

It's also good for animals who have recently been spayed/neutered or had surgery and can't get a real bath.

Which of the formulas do you think works the best? I see that you recommended the spray on, but wouldn't you think the foaming one would clean best?

I'm not sure what brand we use...but I love having waterless shampoo on hand. We have a kennel, and it's great for the dogs that don't get baths on the last day. We keep them rinsed if they need it, but sometimes even the clean dogs get a "kennel" smell, so we spray and towel dry. It also works great when we have to do anal gland walk ins.

I used BioGrooms waterless shampoo for years with great results. Even gave some samples bottles to clients. Decided to try the Miracle Coat foaming a few months ago and I like it, too. I haven't tried the Davis waterless, but I do like some of their other products. True it's not as effective as a wet bath, but it does come in handy.

I've never tried it or even thought about using it. If I don't have a boarding kennel and the grooming dogs that I do go home with in the hour of being finished, what would I use it for? I need a good reason to even consider getting some.

I've used Self Rinse for years. I think it's the professional handlers old stand by.

A note on foaming shampoos...they're great for cats, who don't appreciate being sprayed very much. I don't know if it cleans any better or worse than a spray. It's just safer.
