  • Poo Price Question

If you are not charging by the hour, is your price for a Poodle of any size more if they want a pattern versus a lamb or strip? I don't charge more for a pattern but I notice some in my area do. thanks.

Unless it's taking you the same amount of time to do a pattern (probably not), I think it should be a little more. More drying, more scissoring, more technical work, more money.
Old groomers never die, they just go at a slower clip.

    Groom on!!!

Yep, everything that Karla said. It takes me longer, I charge more.

No I don't. I do charge more if the hair is longer though.

I do charge more for a pattern vs a strip as it takes longer.

I charge 10 more for the small poodles, 20 more for mini and 50 more for standards.

I don't charge for patterns but exception would be a more formal show trim and then MUCH more.

Where I work no price difference except the really big show trims.

We don't do any show clips here, but there is no difference between a lamb or Miami and a teddy bear clip...

Do you charge more for a Shih Tzu in a lamb w/ scissored legs, versus a Shih Tzu w/ 1/2" all over?

A clean face is way faster than a round face, and I can't say that poodle feet take a ton more time than bichon style foot. Maybe +1 minute per foot.

Yup-more. Everything Karla said. I time every one of my grooms. More time means it needs to be more money. I'm still a newbie, but get a fair amount of poodle feet practice. Can't imagine shaved feet only taking 1 minute more than bichons. A new goal to strive for?

We charge same for all styles but don't do hand stripping or show standard quality poos at this time.

I wouldn't charge more or much more. I love doing lamb type trims on std poos.
