  • Candy stripe poodle

If you were doing a creative with a white poodle and the customer theme is candy stripe like a candy cane would you...

    1. Do the stripes long way head to toe.
    2. Just the opposite, around the body circular like rings head to toe.
    3. Or something in between like one long stripe say starting at chest wrapping around and around to rear...one long continuous stripe.

Also what would do with the headpiece, leave alone and let the stripe speak for itself, and what about ears?

Probably diagonally following the rear leg angulation, meaning first stripe from hock angled up rear leg and then spaced evenly apart moving forward. Just my personal opinion. Also would do 1 ear red, and tail pom red.

I agree that would be preferable.

Sounds like fun! Maybe diagonal stripes on front and back legs (going in opposite directions) and a half moon on the body to make the 'hook'. Red tail, and red stripes on both ears. Top it off with a big red bow with a candy cane center (think you can find small candy canes at a craft store). Can't wait to see the result!
Old groomers never die, they just go at a slower clip.

        Groom on!!!

If the groomer has great creative skills I would like the spiral effect around the body but more than that I would like to see the body and legs about say 1/2 inch all over but the stripe rounded and left about 1 inch high. Lots of work, hope you get paid well for the time.

So agree. I did see someone do a snake like that once, not scary, and that's how she did it with the snake body raised, very cool.

I would do the spiral trim, Isabella joner doblas does it best. It is time consuming to cut it in right. The modern styles around the world magazine covers this trim in volume#4 poodle. https://www.canadiangroomingdistribu...nt=27039998662
