Hi all, I am new to the group and currently training with a groomer in her shop. I live in Illinois and wondered if it would be beneficial to attend the grooming expo coming up in Wheeling, IL? I see that they have a Brusher Bather certificate program and a few other seminars that I would be interested in. I'm not sure how the whole expo is run but would it indeed be beneficial to attend a few of the courses, being a beginner? If so, do you bring any of your own supplies or anything? Thanks -Kelly

It is ALWAYS worth your time to attend grooming seminars. You don't need any supplies....except your credit card to take advantage of all the cool products you will find. Go! Have Fun! Report Back!

I attend the All-American and LOVE IT!! I did the brusher/bathing course last year just to see if there was anything else I could improve on and there was so much more that I learned. There is always something to learn, to see, everybody is wonderful and friendly and of course the shopping is fantastic. Have a blast!!

I've been grooming 40 years and I took the Brusher Bather course to learn the latest ideas and techniques. I incorporated some ideas into my daily life and others I didn't. It's all about being open to new ideas. Never stop learning!

Good you cannot go wrong getting more education. Just so you know there are too many groomers that learn enough to get by earning their pay, but there really is so much more fun learning more and wow the world. Go for it.

WELL SAID I know so many groomers with no interest to learn more. I guess they love the animals but it is just a job. It is the ENERGY HIGH of a show that is addictive and sharing with others. It is so fun to get with groomers learning things at the shows, save up if you have to and try it.
