    Rochester, N.Y. - For a lot of pet owners, that furry friend is a part of the family. Many people, though, do not realize that when they take their pet to a pet groomer, they are also taking a risk.

    There are currently no regulations or requirements for pet groomers and kennels in New York. But after seeing a horrible experience near Buffalo, Assemblywoman Jane Corwin wants to see that change.

    "A family took their dogs to a groomer assuming they would be safe, and they ended up dead and there was no way to file charges or investigate," said Assemblywoman Corwin (R, Clarence).

    For more than 20 years, Rebecca Fargnoli has groomed pets at Lakewind Kennels. She considered them her family.................
