After the Sprakers NY Border Collie breeder incident in 2014 where dogs were left in inclement weather and dead puppies were found frozen into the ground. Montgomery county legislation created an Animal abuse Registry. It was a long time overdue.

Good idea. The low-lifes who steal and sell pets on Craigslist and other sites will still sell to these people because they won't bother to check a registry, but at least the reputable groups won't be providing pets to people who might abuse them.

I hate a lot of gov intrusion but when it comes to abuse of anything human or animal it should be national even.

What a wonderful tool this will be to not only keep the shelter adoptees safer, but also to help monitor the future serial killers of tomorrow.
