  • Oregon Dog Groomers Need Only Scissors, No Training

    http://www.oregonlive.com/forest-gro...need_only.html

Thinking of a career change? How about dog grooming?

It's an easy enough field to get into, easier than cutting human hair, anyway. Technically speaking, all you need is a pair of scissors, maybe a hose, and a hair dryer.

But Betty Weil, a longtime groomer and educator, says that's simply not enough.

"It's just too easy for somebody to pick up a book and groom their neighbor's dog and open up a salon," Weil said while shaping a poodle's mane in her Cornelius shop, which doubles as a school for apprentice groomers.............
Coordinators post updates to the message for grooming events, members contests, PG.com Classified Ads, GroomerTALK Radio shows and PG.com Magazine online.
