I actually had someone leaving an application for employment for the future, we are not looking, and it said salary preferred. Really? I am so used to 50 to 60 percentages it got me stumped. What would I offer, I don't know. How did anyone here figure salaries?

My previous employer use to pay one of her groomers salary because he drove almost 2 hours to work and back every day with no guarantee as to what was going to be scheduled for dogs. I don't know what amount they agreed upon, but I assume it was something to do with the average amount he should be bringing the salon in daily/weekly and a certain percentage of that amount.

I pay a flat rate per day based on an hourly rate roughly equal to 40% commission. We provide bathers/dryers and reception. My groomers work part time and earn around $25 an hour. Its based on productivity and we do bonuses as well for extra hours and more dogs groomed than "normal".
