As a professional dog groomer Paulette “DeeOn” Miller said she never realized that her services could help those in need.
That perspective changed Sept. 20 when Miller and a friend went to the Napa County Fairgrounds in Calistoga to help the victims of Lake County’s Valley Fire the best way she knows how — by grooming and washing the evacuated pets for free.
“It never occurred to me that you could help people with my business,” the Vallejo woman said. “I would do it again in a second.”
Miller opened a dog mobile groomer business Doggy-Doos two years ago, and has been serving about 200 pets with 40 more on the wait list, she said.......
