The term "Animal House" is going to take on a whole new meaning if a reality show by that name featuring a Lyndhurst pet groomer gets picked up for release. Instead of associations with the risqué movie, "Animal House" now will mean a team of volunteers coming to the rescue of animal rescue shelters in dire need of help.

Erica Salvemini, who owns Just 4 Paws Pet Spa in Lyndhurst, traveled across the continent recently to be part of a project to rebuild an animal rescue shelter in rural Othello, Wash., that burned down in 2009 and has been struggling ever since. She spent a week there grooming dogs while living in a donated house with other animal professionals, with no resemblance to the original Animal House.

Rescuing the Adams County Pet Rescue let the producers of "Animal House" film a pilot episode they hope will get picked up by a television channel or an Internet service. If it does, there will be no shortage of work, as more than 200 shelters already have asked them for assistance.....
