What kind of dog and what kind of scent work?

Do you have a local kennel club? Many of them can refer you to members who offer obedience training, or refer you to a training club.

Higher levels of obedience teach scent discrimination. And many training clubs will have at least one member who participates in tracking trials. Or they can refer you to a tracking club.

She is a 5 year old chocolate lab, I was thinking tracking. But as you can tell I don't know much about it. Some sites I have found said that she is not to old. What do you think??

Well, I am a firm believer in encouraging natural behaviors (functionlust) in dogs. Allowing them to do what comes natural for them is alot easier to train than a skill that is un-natural. Thus, your lab would probably be GREAT in retrieving work! There are some great trials for labs and most of them include water YIPEEEEEE!

Hope these links are ok and that they are helpful.

Best of luck and HAVE FUN!
