  • Needing advice on which dryer would work for me.

I've been considering buying my own high powered blow dryer. I am just a pet owner, not someone in the business. Am hoping some of the pros here can offer some recommendations or information!

I have 2 Siberian Huskies- so I am thinking I need something powerful to blast the water/undercoat out. How powerful is where I am not sure what I need. Also don't know if any of these brands are known for being good, or if I should look at other brands etc.

    Any help is much appreciated!

    Heat:Warm Air (no heating element)

My K9-II is my backup to my Really Super Duper expensive, professional and really nice Main HV. I think for a few hundred bucks you would be happy for life. Just my opinion. Go K9-II!!

      HI!

I tried all the links, but couldn't get anything, I even tried going to petedge, and typing in the product numbers, but no dryers, lol.

From personal experience I have used the double k challengair, and the k9 II (or was it III...). Both I loved. It is a lot of money for someone that is just grooming their own dogs, but if want to make the investment it is definitely worth it, especially for a dog like a husky!

      Good luck!

The links didn't work for me either, but for those dogs, you'll want either the K9 II, K9 III (It'll blow your doors off!), or the Metro Airforce Master Blaster (about $100 cheaper than the K9 II so that is my recommendation).

These are the two most common brands of High Velocity dryers, and most popular too, and I think the Master Blaster would be the most cost-effective for you.

It's FEET PER MINUTE that you want to look at. With dogs like that, you'll dry them a lot faster and blow the coat out a lot easier with 58,000 FPM than with less.

        Good luck!

you could probably get away with a metro because it is only your two dogs but the metro is not as powerful as the k9-II.....if you wanted to be able to get them blown out faster and not so much dryuing time i'd go with the K9......also the metro does not have heat where as the K( does. I used both my metro is more my back up. it sits near my grooming table to finish off ears and feet if they are still damp before i start to finish them. my k9 sits in the tub/drying room for most of the drying work.

You could get a small metro (a little orange one), and be fine with it at your house. The one that I have is a Master Blaster. I also like the K9 11. Both of these dryers have 2 motors in them. This makes them more powerful.

Griffon, which Metro dryer are you talking about? The little orange ones? Because the Master Blaster and the K9II both blow 58,000 feet per minute air flow. Well, the Master Blaster is 58,500 and the K9 II is 59,000 to be exact. Neither of them have heating elements in them, but both heat up with the motors on full speed.

I like both of these dryers, as I've used both. My boss just happened to get the one that is a little less expensive, the Master Blaster. I do like the choice of colors that the K9II's come in though!

If the orange one that you are referring to is the one that I have, then I don't really care for it, lol. Sure it works ok for some thinner coated dogs, but I wouldn't use it on a husky!

Seems like the majority are recommending the master blaster or k9II. I like the colors on the K9 as well, but I don't know if that justifys spending an extra $100! LOL

                    Thanks for the help!

                      Metro

The 4.0 metro will work fine if you have patience & want to spend less than $200.

I have blown out many dogs with the one(s) I have with no problem, before I got my big'un. I used the condensor nozzle to blow most of the water off then finished drying without it. And I still use mine WITH my HV to really speed things up.
You aren't using it everyday like we do so I really think it will be fine.
Their resell value on ebay is good too.
