I've recently started taking pictures of all the dogs I groom, but most don't want to stand pretty for me. I get blurred pics and top of head shots. How do you guys with all the cute pictures get your dogs to stand so nice??? Tips would be greatly apppreciated

LUCK!!!! lol I should also say a lot of patience.
I also make funny noises to get their attention, but most of it for me is just plain old luck. I know this hasn't helped much but that is how it has worked for me."There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face."

Like others have said, funny noises, or treats held up will make the dogs look at the camera. I have it REALLY hard, my table is in the 'cat room' at work. Ahhh lol
Sometimes I'll also have the camera ready to click with one hand and I tap their nose a couple times and pull my hand away as I click, hopefully my fingers get out of the shot in time. Also, different angles work, I crouch down a bit and move with the dog, if they're fixated on a cat I take advantage of it. lol

My dogs are taught from day one when I groom them that sitting is not allowed while they're "at work." Of course, older dogs, dogs with hip/back problems or other problems are allowed to sit. But the obviously young and healthy kids are to stand while I clip them.
I think this helps when taking photos. Yes, sometimes they like to sit as if they're posing, but I say, "No!" and stand them back up. After two times they usually stay put.

The front room of my grooming shop has pictures of every dog I've groomed taped to the walls. I'm running low on wall space. LOL!! Not all are standing pretty though. Some are full body shots, some are just head shots. I have one Golden who's pink peener is hanging out and I would love to get a new picture of him, but shortly after I groomed him he was hit by a car so it's not going to happen.
