  • straight and curves

I find at times when i use my straights i can work faster. I am not sure if it is a matter of comfort or design. Both are Geib. It could just be my style of groomin'.

I only use my curves for faces.

I'm the opposite. I find myself using my curves all the time, even when I shouldn't!!

I use my curves alot for faces, I used to use them alot for feet, but I can put a nicer round foot on a groom with straights now.......weird I know. I do know I have to upgrade my shears....it's just the money thing right now, and the fact that I'm still butter fingers sometimes...........

I use my curves most of the time. I do use my straights on standard poodle legs. I don't know why but I'm just more comfortable with my curves.

I use my curves 90% of the time. I've become pretty good at making straight lines with them (holding them backwards of course).

I use my straights most times but I think that is because i don't have a very good pair of curves and well...I was trained to use mostly my straights.

At least I'm not the only one who doesn't really use their curves.

I use my curves 99% of the time. My straights stay in the bottom drawer unless I'm doing poodle legs, and 90% of the time I still use curves for that too. If I had a larger pair of straight I might use them more, but only have 7".

I use my curves for 90% of my grooming. I have a set of Geib 10" Straights that are awesome for scissoring legs. For the shorter legged dogs I use 8's.

I use my curves 95% of the time! And I use 10" shears almost 100% of the time. Just my preference!

I only use my curves for top knots and to do a little sculpting in the tuck-up area, if the dog is a little overweight and needs the illusion of having a waist.

I don't use curves for feet. I do "Helly feet" which means scissoring straight up and down, not around the foot.

I use straights the majority of the time and curves for beveled feet only and top knots. Sometimes if I'm hurrying and forget to switch, I get "dinks" in the legs and faces, etc using curves there. Then I end up having to cut more off to make it even.

I too was trained to use straights, so I never really use curves. Plus because I don't really use them, and it's different from using straights I kinda suck at them, lol..if I do decide to use them I'm gonna need to practice first, or I'll mess something up!
