  • OOOOOHHH I hurt my ankle yesterday!

    What a PITA it is trying to work w/a hurt ankle. I don't know exactly what I did, but I did I am very height challenged (meaning short..haha) and I stand on my toes a lot. My hubby (and others) make fun of me because I stand on my toes even when I don't need to, it is just a habit and I feel comfortable that way. Yesterday morning I was reaching up into my cabinet when my ankle just gave out on me. It didn't hurt real bad at that time, but while I was working through the day it would suddenly "give" and I would stumble. The end result is that I was sore and feeling off all over my body. I was able to get in for a last minute massage and adjustment at my Chiro's yesterday (thank goodness!). My other achies are feeling okay today, but my ankle and foot are still KILLING me. Dang it, I can't go for my morning walk and I am NOT looking forward to working today, but I have too. Julia (other groomer) is on vacation and we are pretty packed. In fact I have my family w/3 OES's who are scheduled and there is no way I will reschedule them because they are having a surprise retirement party for the owners dad and she wants the dogs beautiful. Okay, I am done whining now and feel much have any cheese for me to go w/my whine?

    AAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWW poor you. It's all Julia's fault you know. Didn't you say whenever she went on vaca you got busy. you jinxed yourself the other day when you were saying it was slow. And now look. You've got a booboo.LOl jk feel better soon

      Don't forget R.I.C.E. Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation. Works wonders. Aspirin or Ibuprofen wouldn't hurt, either, nor would a little linement at night, before you go to bed.

      And stop standing on your toes!!! Get yourself a shortie board if you must, but don't do that to your poor feet. Bunions, hammer toes, and tendonitis are no fun!

        Get hand lotion and massage your leg and ankle. Use your index finger and middle finger with pressure do circles on your skin with pressure over the painful areas. Strech your leg by pointing your tows out and hold for 10-15 seconds x 2. Then bring in like an L and hold that strech for 10-15 second x 2. You will be better in a few days.

          At 5'2" I stand on my toes a lot too, Sheila. I hadn't really thought about it, but I hope I don't hurt my ankle like you did. It's friday tomorrow, take the weekend to relax. Oops, you're open on Saturdays, huh? See, this is why I am off during the weekends.

            I posted about it already, it isn't broken so what is there to do? I can't NOT use my . (Its on my right hand btw and I'm right handed) I'm using it right now to type this post about it! lol Remind me not to grab any more speeding 90 lb police dogs.
