  • What would u do?

Had the worst of things happen to 1 of my customers that could have happen. They were arrested for child porn on their home comptuer.
My Q&A is how would u handle this?
There was no sign of this from the person, sure the familey is upended but how do you apporach them when things settle down.
Do u leave them r keep on trying to service them?
@ the moment I plan 2 keep seeing them hopefully things will be ok for the rest of the family.

I dont think there is anything for you to handle yet. they were only arrested ,not convivcted.I would ignore everything and continue a professional relationship with them.you never know the whole story.

While personally I think that child porn is a horrible thing and anyone who searches out and views it is a very sick person, it is not my place or my business to pass judgement on them as far as a business relationship is concerned. If I were you, I would continue to offer services to this client as if you had never heard this information about them and give them the same professional service and courtesy as you always have. But, that's just me, I am interested to see how others feel about this.

As disgusting as that kind of transgression is I have to agree. If you kick them out of your shop and they are acquitted you can get sued. If you are mobile and you think having your truck out front of their house will affect your image just be "too busy" when they call.

I'd still groom their dog and would simply pretend I didn't know anything. However, I'd never have my child around them and I'd avoid looking at their computer.

i've had the same thing happen to one of my clients. he was convicted and served some time. his wife was in total shock. i was grooming their dogs for about 6 years at the time. i continued to groom the 17 yr old schnauzer until she passed away. mom needed someone to talk to who wasn't passing judgement on her. she made no excuses for her husband.

I live in the same town as Randy, the man was charge with over 25 counts of child porn that had been downloaded on his computer, was not just some innocent clicked link. Someone who knew this man reported him to the police. I'm not sure I would have my van outside his house. Tuff call for Randy!

Someone's got to groom the dog. Just keep your children away from him.

It's so sad and so sick. I need to stop here or I'll get very upset.

Along with what everyone else has said, please keep in mind that ONE member of the family was arrested, not the entire family. The rest of them are innocent! Probably didn't have a clue what was going on, if anything was going on at all. Why would you shun people who are innocent of any wrong doing?

Until convicted there's not a lot you can do. Even if that happens the family will still need the dog taken care of. Chances are you won't see this family again just because of the stigma. I feel for the family of this person what a horrible thing to have happen to them.

Just keep doing the dog as long as you get paid. Most of the family is innocent, why should they and the dog suffer? You are a professional doing a service. This jerk is charged, and is probably guilty, but I can almost guarantee that (as sick as it is), he probably isn't the only one on your client list with something to hide.

I would still do the dog for the family but that man would not be safe in my presence. If I had a husband or son do that it wouldnt be pretty, they would be begging to be put in jail.

WHat happens to a client is their business unless it is dangerous to your welfare. The man is guilty the rest of his family probably had no clue. People who deal in children are very secretive and a lot fo the downloads like those go into hidden files so you have to search to find them. Do not hold it against the family and if someone asks why you are there tell them the family isn't guilty just the perpertrator. But do keep any children away from that property if that person is released and advise your children about proper behavior and to immediately tell you if that line has been crossed. Never doubt a child who suggest molestation nbut immediatly take them in to be questioned by someone trained in dealing with that type of situation.

There have been several cases here where we are with child porn and other childrelated issues and they were all people no one would have suspected of such behavior! One guy is languishing in NJ for trying to buy sex with a child -I hope he rots!
