Schutzhund explanation long blame Beejl !

Beejl, you asked for it ! Anyone who is better at explaining please chime in. Schutzhund is simialar to police dog training, tracking obeidience and protection, there are 3 phases, 1 ,2 ,3, At the start of every trial the dog must pass a temperment test, then on to the track, it consistsof at 2 turns and 2 "articles" in the first phase, the dog must indicate each article by lying straight with it between the front paws, there is a posible 100 pt sfor each phase, Then after a rest, obeidience is a strict routine of heeling,going out for a long down(away from the handler) a recall, retrieve over a wall, then overascaling wall, the dumbbells are up to 5 lbs, there are 3 dumbells that used at certain parts of the excercise. then protectection is also astrict routine of offl leash heeling, a blind search for the 'badguy' 6 blinds and they must be circled as the handler walks down the center giving the comands, when thedog findsthe bg it must do a bark and hold, the bg then does an 'escape from the blind the dog apprhends bg and then outs on command, the track I forgot to mention at the sch 3 level is a mile and will several articles and turns and can cross small streams,etc. The track is aged from 1 to several hours forthe differen levels I think I left outsomething, anyoneelse want to help ?

Glad you understood my ramblings ! That is why I make a terrible teacher, thank you for being excited for us, we are having soo much fun and working our fuzzies off ! So worth it when the pup 'Gets it" and goes for all they have.
