  • Help stripped my screws

I went to change my blade drive assembly today on my Andis clippers and I stripped one of the screws ... totally. I tried changing the screwdriver size, then going from a phillips to a small flat head to get in there ... no avail. It looks bad. Now what?

    Any suggestions?

This may sound silly for such a small fix but I would send it to my sharpener. But then again, I'm known for making things worse if I try to fix them myself. So I've learned over the years to stay out of it, LOL.

If you go to lowes or sears there is a kit you can buy that will removed screws that have the heads stripped out of them. It looks like a backwards drill bit with teeth and they come in many sizes. The kit about 20 bucks has all the sizes and it should do the trick.

Hahaha! I'm sorry Bed, I didn't mean for that to sound mean! If you can fix it, more power to ya! I, personally, know jack squat about these sorts of things and have annoyed my husband to no end trying to fix something and making it worse. For a quick fix the other day I used duct tape on a flat tire. Yeah. I know. The tire shop was like a block away and I thought it would slow the leak down enough so I could make it! Apparently not.....

Brink, that is what fixaflat is for! If you use it tell the tire person before they work onit.

                    Hurray

Celebpet --- it worked. May Andis cordless are up and running again. HURRAY!!!

Thanks so much for the help. It was $20 -- alittle scarey because it seemed like I was drilling into the main part of my clippers. My kit had one end that burnished the old screw then you turned it around and then ithe other end could grab the screw and undid it.

Yea Smart & Pretty and my clippers were way more than $80. I wanna know where you are shopping.

And Brink, I think you are funny -- the ouch is because there was something in it for me!

Back in business due to the site again!!
