  • Cannot See Post Reply or Thread Screen in Internet Explorer 8?

Fortunately this error is affecting very, very few now, and there is an immediate fix you can do in IE 8.

Internet Explorer 8 has a "COMPATIBILITY VIEW" setting. It's a nemesis at times for web programmers. If you are not using compatibility view IE 8 has no problems.

If Compatibility View is activated, the Post Reply and Post New Thread screens are distorted. A fix is in the works.

But you can immediately clear up the issue. In IE 8 browser, look at the top menu bar. Click Tools, and look for Compatibility View. There is probably a check next to it. Click that check to turn off C.V. You may have to login again, but you should then be able to post new threads and replies.

    Thanks.

Stephen: And soon after I posted this message the compatibility view was fixed but although I use IE a lot, but Firefox influenced IE changes of late. With IE you know you are going to have to do lots of fixes, so we do. Keeps programmers busy and getting more checks from us too, smile.

Old groomers never die, they just go at a slower clip.

          Groom on!!!
