Just got home from pet expo in Pasadena... Nothing too exciting. Many vendors not there, and no mobile companies...Seemed to me to be less of the same as in previous years and I still manageed to spend several hundred dollars... I usuall go on Friday and Sunday... but I don't think I am going for a second day. What did everyone else think?

Well
I'm really enjoying it and am taking advantage of all the sessions, but this is my first one so I don't have anything to compare it to. I have spent a lot also, even buying one of the hydraylic tables being used for competition for a discounted price. I get to pick it up tomorrow night. Tomorrow I will be buying a couple of shears, and some other items on my list. I'm going to take both of Jody Murphy's sessions and I'm going on Sunday too. I saw her today in her booth. I have several of her DVD's and to me she looks so much smaller in person. A really nice lady.

I haven't been yet, but I was thinking the same thing when viewing the vendor list. It was like a huge bubble burst! No Isle of Dogs, no Les Poochs, no EZ Groom, no Iv San Bernard, No Show Seasons...it seems like the only new vendor is Envirogroom! (New to the expo, I mean.) Kenchii is there, thank God. Of course I'm still going to go get my baby groomed by Lisa, stock up on some needed supplies, check out the creative contest, and hobnob and say hello to everybody. I'm just sad there's nothing new. :/There are 3 different kinds of people in this world: Dog people, cat people, and rational people who don't have a problem liking two things at the same time.

Pasadena was a disappointment. There was less than half the vendors that Burbank always had. It's a 4hr. round trip drive for me and it took less than a hour to see and buy what I wanted.I had Planned on stocking up on shampoo but the parking was to far away.I won't go back next year I'll wait for the Vegas expo.Burbank was always great plus parking was close.Being mobile I really missed visiting the mobile grooming vendors!Does anyone know why their not having in Burbank any longer?

I didn't get to see it today
just dropped my dog off and came back for the CA Groomers Association meeting. You want to hear unimpressive - someone? took all the creamers, diet sweetners and sugars set out for our coffee. Quite a lot. The server was quite surprised.
I know now why some vendors are not there, because of the Westminster BIG dog show the next two days after Pasadena in N. Y. I was told by two big names that it was why they weren't there, they would be vendoring at the Garden. I do like some of the classes and usually am not interested so we'll see. I still know I can get some good stuff there and will.
The Burbank show was at a Hilton but changed to be a Marriott Hotel. Hilton welcomed the dogs, Marriott does not. So they had to change. That is a good point about the parking being far to load up. They ought to rent carts, you know leave a driver's license or something to borrow a cart, or just keep thiem flowing to and fro.
Anyway part of the reason I go is to enjoy meeting other groomers. A really nice woman was next to me at the Groomers Assoc. meeting. I met "Gracy Rose who is cute, nice and dynamic. I'm meeting Dirty Hairy tomorrow. I get big hugs from Chuck. And I got to not only meet Lisa Leady but to have her groom my dog and to actually talk with her. She's great.
I miss John Nash ;o(Money will buy you a pretty good dog but it won't buy the wag of it's tail.
