  • SNOW DAY! With pics!

Here is a link to my photo bucket album with our snow pics in it. I know, I kn ow, it isn't MUCH snow, but the last time we got this much is out of our memory cycle! It was back over 10 years ago, more like 20 I think.

MAJOR accidents all over so I am staying in town. Safer that way. Several clients have offered me a place to sleep but I have a sofa sleeper here so I am good.

The highway I would be going home on is closed due to an accident involving a tractor trailer loaded with gravel that lost its load. Now people are crashing into each other trying to avoid IT. Crazy folks dont know you have to slow down to drive in the icy mess. It is now dropped below freezing so all the slush is freezing.

I was supposed to prune roses this weekend.....don't think that is happening!

We are getting the snow now. It is sticking to the ground, I haven't let my dogs out in it yet I want to wait till it covers more since my yard is mud from all the rain. It is pretty neat having it snow in South Ga.

Glad to hear that there is at least one sane person who is staying off of those roads. Much, much better to be safe than to be sorry.
LOVE LOVE LOVE your snowman. So cute.

I hope you don't mind me adding some snow pictures. I don't want to add another tread on the same subject.
We don't get snow here usually ether but we got some today as well.
Here is a picture of Russell having fun in the snow.

As I was writing this post my hubby called and told me he got in to an accident!
He is fine and it was not his fault but the car is in bad shape. It was our good car too, not the the banged up one. Darn it.

This is way more snow than I expected. I can't believe it's still coming down, too. We're waiting for it to finish up and then we're gonna go make a snowman! It's been at least 6 years since we've seen this much snow in Columbia that I can remember. It's been so long since I've seen any snow at all I forgot how it can make any boring neighborhood look soooo pretty! After living in Michigan I didn't think I ever wanted to see that white stuff again, but I was wrong. I kinda missed it!

I know the weather is just flippin' wierd, but every puppy deserves the chance to romp in the snow!

I'm near Atlanta and we definitely have a good 3+ inches in my yard! I'm worried about driving to work tomorrow.

Which is why I opted for the sleeper sofa in the shop rather than drive home in the mess. tomorrow morning all the slush we have will be ice. I live a LONG ways away from here. I can drive in the snow and ice. Did it for years in MA, even delivered papers in it, but the people here in GA have no idea how to handle it. Better safe than sorry was my thought.

                  Glaad he wasn't hurt.

                    Great pics Parti!
I'm glad you guys are getting a taste of this...it's kinda fun if you stay off the roads, and take it all in stride.
It's pretty...in moderation (not like this Snowzilla we have here right now!) and oh-so-fun to watch the dogs romp in. Except for Toto.

Speaking of Hairzilla's....Parti...who is the B/W Parti behind Kermit w/ the beeg hair?

THAT me dear is ELMO. He and Kermit are both freaking hair machines. Funny thing is they were both groomed the same day. Different coat texture plus Kermie doesn't roll in the grass and mess up his hair like Elmo does.

I bet you think you see a trend in the names, but I bet you missed it. They are named after towns in Texas not muppets, but PLEASE don't anyone tell my grand daughter that! The red and white bitch is Josie, also named after a town in Texas named Josephine. I have had Waco, Austin, Christi, Tyler, Houston, and Liberty (AKA Libby).

Everyone has to have a theme! Mine is just a bit "off". Like me!

We got snow for an hour. It didn't stick, but the two keeshonden we have ventured out and pronounced their disgust with it.

I took a picture out the window, you can barely make out the flakes. Drive 45 minutes north of me and the roads are closed.

It's just muddy and cold now.

Even better yet, we still have ice and snow everywhere. Not a lot of snow mind you, but its still there. My Van is iced over and my truck is under two inches of the stuff. Snow with a layer of ice over it. YUCK. My ramp that leads to my excercise yard is black ice. YOu can't see it until the dogs go sliding. Funny sight too, three cockers sliding down the ramp.

I have never seen cars in this town drive down the roads with snow on them until now. It was a flashback to MA seeing cars drive down the road with jus the wiper area cleared on the windsheild and snow piled on the trunk and roof! I cou ldnt help but laugh. OH and this was THIS MORNING not yesterday.......it will all be gone likely by lunch, but still. Its still here.

Kids took their boogie boards sledding yesterday and my 25 year old son built a snowman in front of a school with a bunch of younger kids....gotta love it. Mother Nature is funny!

We got snow here in south east part of Texas (last snow like this back in the early 80's) a couple nights ago. My kids had a blast in it. The dogs on the otherhand ... LOL Well our Lab, Cuba, it didn't bother him or my girl poodle Daphne. Dallas, my big boy Poodle.. he said no freaking way he was going to walk around in it. He stepped of the porch, sniffed the snow then did this weird jump... jumped up and sideways and landed back on the porch and did his potty business there instead. Rain doesn't bother him but oh Lord help him if his paws touched snow. LOL
