  • this might be a weird one.....marking mixing bottles????

Has anyone figured out a way to label or mark mixing bottles? I tried making a label and wrapping clear masking tape over it all the way around the bottle it last maybe 3 weeks. Perm. markers don't last.....any suggestions?

lol, I've struggled with this too!

One of the best things i've found are the metallic paint pens and fingernail polish.

I've just been using a Sharpie Marker, but I think I'll try your suggestions next time. THANKS!

I think nail polish works well. If the bottle has a little tapered area near the top I usually write on there. If you write anywhere on the sides it will comes off too quickly.

ferretlov, that would probably be the Magnum Marker! It'll make you high just opening the cap! In my former life, I worked in the art industry and we sold those. We were in a mall and had to keep them behind the counter because we had kids coming in on the weekends "sniffing" the markers!! But you are right, they are very difficult to come off and I hadn't even thought of using them on my bottles.

I quit marking bottles for the most part. We only make what we need for the day and I can tell by smell what shampoo it is. We have to lable any product with it's MSDS sticker if it's put in something other than it's own container for storage so it's alot of trouble. The lables last a month or so and fall off or become illegiable and the fine for not having one if they inspect outways any convience.

You can buy indelible ink markers from most art supply stores. They're used in signage alot to mark out lettering before painting it. You can also by them from the DickBlick website.

you know those Label makers, you can buy waterproof labels for them. I have one for pricing at work, and I've had one on a bottle in the tub for a few months with no wear.

You can also use a piece of masking tape and write on it w/a permanant marker. It won't last forever....lol....but it will last a day.

Tis, I understand marking goods for resale, but shampoo for salon use makes no sense to me. Explain why , except for the money asspect it is just plain silly.

Us we have probably 4 or 5 shampoos that are white and our conditioner is white so i like to keep everything labeled when they are on the shelf above the tub to be sure someones not grabbing the wrong thing, i have done it more then once went to grab a bottle of shampoo and grabbed conditioner
