BLACK!?!?!?! Make sure she knows no matter what you use it won't come out for a long time. I bet even chalk would last a while on Maltese hair. I can't really offer much help, sorry. I would try the chalk first just b/c it'll wash out the quickest, but it's would probably look grey. I just don't know. I thought about dyeing my Malt to look like a panda, but I really think it would take forever for the color to grow out. I had planned on using Manic Panic.
The mohawk rocks my socks though!!!!!

Manic Panic makes blacks. http://www.manicpanic.com be sure to post oics! When you dye it make sure you cholestrol the areas on his head you don't want to dye!

True black is hard to achieve without the help of human products i.e. clairol. Now, I have used these products on my own dog without any ill effects, but I would not promote use of them on clients pets. I would try to talk the owner into any other color (except red - which is also hard to get)

SHow people use Water WOrks true black or blue black on dogs with white where it ain;t supposed to be. Works on white spots on toes, chins, chests.....not harsh, water based. Available at Sallys. It is PERMANENT and has to grow out. It will work ,but it takes a long time to set. Like, an hour or so.My Blog The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why. –Mark Twain
